Brett founded Homestead Meat Company with a vision to bring quality, locally sourced meats to families throughout the region. He leads the company’s growth while staying true to the values of craftsmanship and community that started it all.

Brannan has built several successful businesses from the ground up, and focuses on building strong relationships. He serves as the COO for Homestead Meat Company, alongside his more important roles as husband, father, patriot, and man of God.

Co-Owner
Ralph operated a 1,400-acre farm — dairy, beef, and row crops — and started his own plant nursery before getting into the software space in the 1980s. He has spent the past 40 years putting down roots in the Saint Louis area and raising his children and grandchildren.

Erich Klotz

Co-Owner
Erich is a former Saint Louis 40 Under 40 businessman and entrepreneur. He’s spent 20 years in the tech space leading teams, departments, and divisions as a senior executive. As a father of young children, Erich is intensely focused on the quality of the food Homestead makes for his family, and for every other customer.

Our Legacy of Quality & Craftsmanship

How It All Started

For over five decades, Homestead Meat Company has proudly served our community with dedication, integrity, and a passion for quality meats. From our humble beginnings to expanded retail and online services, our commitment to craftsmanship and community has remained the same.

Founded in Jackson, Missouri.

Revis Reisenbichler took over, renamed the business Reis Meats, and started a period of expansion and quality enhancement. Reis Meats quickly became a fixture in the Jackson area as a source for high-quality, locally sourced beef and pork.

The Peterson and Klotz families joined with the Reisenbichler family to carry Reis Meats, now Homestead Meat Company, forward. Homestead rebooted Reis Meats’ popular deer processing, and invested in additional packing and processing equipment.

New web store launched, with free shipping options across America.

Our meats have been recognized for exceptional flavor and quality, earning awards and customer loyalty throughout the region.

Officially incorporated as Homestead Meat Company Inc., formalizing our commitment to professional meat processing services.

Expanded to online retail and delivery services, bringing our quality products to more customers while maintaining our traditional values.

Homestead Meat Company is owned by the Peterson and Klotz families. They took over the facility — formerly Reis Meat Processing — and expanded it with online retail, delivery, and a broader product line while preserving the recipes and quality the community has known for decades.

The processing facility at 2470 Highway C in Jackson, MO has been operating since 1971. Under new ownership as Homestead Meat Company, the business has expanded its reach while continuing the traditions built over more than 55 years.

Our products have earned multiple Grand Champion and Champion awards at Missouri meat industry competitions, including recognition for our snack sticks, jerky, and sausages. These recipes have been winning awards for decades — and we haven't changed a thing.
